The Catholic Parish of St. Peter and Paul in Marburg has created a modern community center along the cultural mile, combining functional requirements with architectural elegance.
Hering Architectural Concrete was commissioned to plan, manufacture, and install the approximately 1,080 m² facade. The aim was to establish a fitting presence within the context of the neighboring Erwin Piscator House and the surrounding cultural and educational buildings.
Designed by RWS Architekten Fulda, the facade is made of reinforced concrete and features an acid-etched surface finish, giving it a bright and contemporary appearance. The irregular arrangement of the structural columns forms a transparent curtain, serving as the visual highlight of the new building.
This new center strengthens the church's role in the public space and provides a venue for community gatherings and cultural events.
