As part of a comprehensive modernization initiative, the façade of the parking garage at Hauptmarkt in Nuremberg – renowned for its central location and the world-famous Christkindlesmarkt – was completely renovated during a major refurbishment. Project planning began in June 2019.
For the new façade design, the choice fell on our proven textile concrete system betoShell®FLEX30 with a sandblasted finish in a striking red tone. After a winter break due to weather conditions, installation resumed in early 2020 and was successfully completed. Today, the building presents itself with a bold, contemporary appearance featuring dynamic red highlights.
In total, approximately 710 m² of façade surface, including a custom stainless steel substructure, was designed, manufactured, delivered, and installed by HERING Architectural Concrete. A visual highlight: white aluminum pilaster strips between the individual panels emphasize the red color and add extra structure and depth to the façade.
