School Campus South, Former Bayernkaserne – Munich, DE

Architekt: a+r Architekten

On the site of the former Bayernkaserne in Munich, the City of Munich – Department of Education and Sports, Building Department (project management) – has completed an extensive education project. Two new school campuses were built: a primary school and a grammar school, each featuring modern sports halls, swimming facilities, and generous outdoor sports areas.

Commissioned by LEONHARD WEISS GmbH & Co. KG, HERING was responsible for the design, production, and delivery of around 800 architectural precast concrete elements. These included reinforced concrete columns of up to 10 metres in length, manufactured at our facilities and installed on site. The acid-etched surface finish gives the concrete components a brighter, more contemporary appearance.

Production took place over a period of 18 months, from precise manufacturing planning through to on-time delivery. Today, the new school campus presents a harmonious combination of functionality, architectural quality, and modern design, making a lasting contribution to Munich’s urban landscape.
