Track Construction Under High Pressure at the FFM Louisa Construction Site

Major track construction works at the Frankfurt Louisa construction site: Eight turnouts, around 1.5 kilometres of track, and approximately 5 tonnes of new ballast were renewed as part of a large-scale infrastructure project.

State-of-the-art technology was used throughout the works: the track was first cleaned using a ballast cleaning machine before the track renewal train carried out the mechanised renewal operations. The project was further supported by our HERING Railway Services team, whose locomotive and rail technology expertise played a key role in the successful execution of the project.

A particular challenge arose from delays in the delivery of track materials by the client. In some cases, the required materials arrived on site three to four days later than scheduled. As a result, short-term acceleration measures were necessary to keep the construction process on track.

Despite these challenging conditions, the entire team maintained full control at all times and successfully completed the works with great commitment, flexibility, and strong team spirit.
