Fast availability, modern technology and cost-efficient operation: The HERING Bahnbau fleet includes six MFS 38 material conveyor and hopper units, a BLS 2000 loading station and the “Schotterbiene” ballast hopper wagon.
The equipment enables the efficient transport, loading and unloading of bulk materials and track ballast directly from the railway line. For larger material volumes, the MFS units can be coupled together to form a high-capacity system. Powered conveyor belts, pivoting transfer conveyors and an independent power supply ensure largely automated operating processes.
Even while the units are being loaded by road-rail excavators or wheel loaders, the adjacent track can remain largely unobstructed, minimising disruption to regular rail services.
We are also able to provide our manually operated ballast-hopper carriage for track filling as well as for transport. Solo as a ballast-hopper carriage or in conjunction with a material-conveying silo unit – gravel can be safely, efficiently and quietly laid in the track as bottom ballast, top ballast or tamping ballast. Our Ballast Bee possesses four independently adjustable guide plates that allows ballast to be directed and discharged both between and outside the tracks (also simultaneously). In addition to efficiency and safety, our ballast bee enables ballast to discharged with the least possible noise thanks to rubber linings on the hoppers. We will also provide the necessary working locomotive for transport or even for the handling of logistical requirements at site if required.

With MFS hopper wagons, a loading station and a ballast hopper wagon, HERING provides high-performance solutions for transporting, loading and unloading bulk materials in railway construction. The rail-bound systems support efficient workflows, reduce logistical effort and help ensure safe and cost-effective project delivery.
Your benefits at a glance:
As a general contractor in railway construction, HERING provides comprehensive solutions for track construction projects from a single source. When required, we can also supply the work locomotive needed to transfer the vehicles or manage logistics on the construction site.

At HERING, we see ourselves as pioneers in the field of sustainability. As early as 1996, we were the first construction company in Germany to obtain EMAS certification. Every three years, we publish an environmental statement documenting our goals and how we have achieved them. Actually, for the first time, we published a sustainability report with an integrated environmental statement in accordance with EMAS - a logical next step in view of our ecological and social responsibility. It documents how we deal internally and externally with the issues that are essential to our future viability.
