Warm welcome & quick briefing
Lukas and his crew received a warm welcome before kicking off with a short run‑through of the day.
Design first: precision before the first pour
The first stop was our office: together with colleague Kian, Lukas got a look at the planning process—because every concrete element starts with precise coordination.
Wood before concrete? Formwork makes it happen
Next up: the formwork/wood workshop. Lukas went hands‑on, learning how measuring, tools and a jigsaw come together. One key takeaway: concrete often begins with wood—in the form of accurately cut formwork.
Teamwork with our apprentices
Real teamwork was needed when Lukas assembled his own concrete mould. He was supported by our apprentices—including Mika, who joined him for a friendly jigsaw “duel”.
In the precast hall: his very own component
Then it was on to our precast concrete hall. Under the guidance of apprentice Jonas, Lukas filled his prepared mould—creating a custom component exclusively for Radio Siegen.
Loading & the ride back
Once cured, the piece was loaded—and Lukas personally delivered it by truck back to the station.
Conclusion:
A hands‑on day with authentic insights into the world of concrete construction. Lukas didn’t just present—he pitched in. We’re excited to see the finished video. Many thanks to Lukas and the team for visiting—we hope to see you again soon!
