After an exciting tour of the HERING campus in Burbach, the students received initial insights into the work of a precast concrete plant and learned about various areas of the company. Then it was time to get practical: Under the motto “Become a designer yourself!”, the participants were invited to work with concrete themselves.
They were able to try out what matters when mixing and casting concrete – including achieving the right consistency. Demoulding the pieces they had created was another exciting moment: Had the shapes turned out well? Had everything worked as planned?
To round off the visit, the group took part in several skill-based games. The concrete pieces they had made were then taken home by the students as a personal reminder of an eventful day at HERING.
The visit impressively demonstrated how exciting practical career orientation can be: directly on site, with real insights into the working world and plenty of opportunities to try things out.
