After an interesting tour of the plant, the participants went straight into hands-on practice. The girls mixed cement, lime and sand and skilfully produced their own precast concrete elements. In the process, they experienced first-hand how individual raw materials are transformed into a finished workpiece.
Once the concrete pieces had been removed from their moulds, it was time to add colour. With brushes and paints, the girls designed their workpieces in their own individual style, creating many colourful one-of-a-kind pieces to take home at the end of the day.
A special highlight was a spontaneous art activity: the disposable aprons were quickly turned into canvases. The participants decorated them with colourful handprints, creating another personal souvenir of an eventful day at HERING.
To round off the morning, the group took part in several skill-based games. After the certificates had been presented, the event came to an end – a morning full of new impressions, creativity and true girl power.
Our conclusion: A few paint stains could not be avoided, but with so much fun they quickly became unimportant. It was particularly impressive to see how much enthusiasm, curiosity and energy the girls brought to the activities. At the end of the day, they took home not only their self-designed concrete pieces and creative aprons, but also an important message: construction is definitely for girls, too!
We are proud of the fantastic results and are already looking forward to the next generation of makers.
