The system is based on the consistent separation of urine and solid waste. While the urine is collected separately, the solids are covered with wood shavings and dried to a residual moisture content of approximately 10%. Both waste streams can then be disposed of separately according to local requirements.
By eliminating the need for chemical additives, the system helps reduce the burden on wastewater treatment plants and natural water bodies. At the same time, decentralised disposal shortens transport distances and can reduce logistics and disposal costs by 30 to 50%.
With AT Nature, HERING Sanikonzept is offering a resource-efficient and flexible sanitation solution that combines chemical-free waste management with low logistical requirements. Looking ahead, the concept also creates the basis for further material recovery and potential reuse of the collected solid waste.
