First construction phase at Munich-Laim station successfully completed

In September of this year, HERING Infrastructure Systems successfully completed the first construction phase at Munich-Laim station. The highlight of this phase is the new Bodenheim light platform roof, which spans 210 metres in length and 12 metres in width, providing passengers with a spacious and modern weather-protected area.

The project was commissioned by the Stammstrecke Munich consortium (ARGE) and Ed. Züblin AG. Construction work began in January 2022 and was extended due to required track closures and several additional change orders, which demanded flexible adjustments to the construction process.

The second construction phase is scheduled for summer 2026. Once fully completed, Munich-Laim station will be further enhanced and aligned with the requirements of a high-performance, future-oriented rail network.
