Building on our liquid cleaning concentrates, which have already been certified with the EU Ecolabel, new concentrates in powder form have now been developed. By converting and crystallising the cleaning ingredients into powder, water is no longer required as a carrier. The new formulation significantly reduces the weight of the concentrate. Just 1.4 kilograms of powder are required to produce 830 litres of ready-to-use cleaning solution – equivalent to 83 ten-litre buckets or 333 500-ml spray bottles. Previously, approximately 10 kilograms of liquid concentrate were needed to produce the same amount.
For HERING Sanikonzept's own cleaning requirements at the public toilet facilities it operates at DB railway stations, this results, for example, in a weight reduction of around 34.5 tonnes. At the same time, more than 60,000 litres of drinking water can be saved each year.
In addition to conserving resources directly, the powder concentrate offers further environmental benefits. Its significantly lower transport weight helps reduce transport-related emissions and also makes parcel delivery possible. At the same time, less storage space and packaging material are required, while the use of plastic canisters is reduced.
Precise dosing also helps prevent overuse of the cleaning product. In addition, the amount of unnecessary fillers in the surfactants can be reduced. The new generation of cleaning concentrates therefore combines efficient cleaning performance with a considerably lower use of resources throughout the logistics chain.
