Strong rail infrastructure for the Rhine-Main region: track construction on the Frankfurt–Kronberg line

On the line between Frankfurt-Rödelheim and Kronberg, HERING Bahnbau GmbH has successfully carried out extensive track construction and maintenance works. The core of the project was the installation of six new turnouts, including the associated connecting tracks, over a total length of approximately 200 metres. In addition, several existing turnouts were refurbished and works were carried out in the area of the Nidda bridge.

A structured, multi-phase construction process formed the basis for efficient project delivery. The turnouts and connecting tracks were pre-assembled in advance to ensure smooth installation and removal during the scheduled track possessions. The dismantling of the existing track systems, the replacement of the ballast and the precise installation of the new turnouts were carried out by our well-coordinated team using our fleet of heavy machinery.

Subsequent works included welding operations, stress adjustment of the rails, and the reinstatement of access paths and drainage systems. The project also comprised targeted maintenance measures on additional turnouts as well as technical works on the Nidda bridge, including the refurbishment of small rail fastenings and fixing elements.

With the project between Frankfurt-Rödelheim and Kronberg, HERING Bahnbau GmbH once again demonstrates its strength in combining new construction and maintenance: precisely planned, efficiently executed, and delivered with a high level of professional expertise in track construction.
