Sustainable, Innovative and Future-Oriented: New Break Room on the HERING Campus

With the new break room for employees on the HERING Campus, HERING is sending a clear signal for future-oriented construction. The project demonstrates how innovative HERING technologies, resource-efficient materials and efficient construction methods can be consistently combined.

At the heart of the construction project are various technical and material-based solutions that enable sustainable yet high-performance building. A key element is the HERING system floor slab with integrated mineral foam insulation and surrounding installation channels. It offers flexible and efficient options for modular construction methods and provides an economical basis for new buildings and extensions.

Prefabricated Timber Façade Reduces Installation Time

The prefabricated timber façade also plays an important role in the sustainable overall concept. Thanks to large-format, factory-produced elements, installation time was significantly reduced. At the same time, material efficiency was increased — an important contribution to resource-efficient construction.

Natural Development in the Outdoor Area

In the outdoor area, a facing shell made of natural aggregates is being used. It was deliberately designed to allow natural development processes to become visible. Which mosses and lichens will settle there over the coming years remains to be seen. In the future, this area is to be complemented by clay façade segments from an ongoing development project.

CO₂-Reduced Ceiling Slab Made from Cement-Free Concrete

Another important component is the geopolymer ceiling slab based on “Earth Friendly Concrete” from MC-Bauchemie. The cement-free concrete enables a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions without compromising on appearance or load-bearing capacity.

Clay Hybrid Walls Combine Sustainability and Solid Construction

The concept is complemented by clay hybrid walls with clay masonry segments from August Lücking. Compared to conventional concrete solutions, they reduce the CO₂ footprint while combining sustainable materials with the advantages of solid construction.

Another Step Towards the Construction of Tomorrow

The new break room therefore represents the consistent combination of HERING innovations and sustainable materials. The project shows how modern construction methods, ecological responsibility and practical solutions can work together — another step towards future-oriented building on the HERING Campus.
