The Geysirmuseum Andernach, known as the gateway to the world’s highest cold-water geyser, is receiving a new building envelope as part of a façade refurbishment. The client is Geysir Andernach GmbH, and the project was designed by Rumpf Architekten. Hering Architectural Concrete was commissioned with the planning, production and delivery of the new façade elements.
The key challenge: The client and architects required an exact replication of the existing building’s appearance – in structure, surface texture and color.
With 518 custom-made betoShell®FLEX40 elements covering an area of 297 m², this requirement was implemented with precision. The sandblasted surface and the precisely matched beige color ensure that the new elements blend seamlessly into the existing façade.
The result: A refurbishment that remains visually invisible while being technically state of the art.
Long-term protection is ensured by the final hydrophobic treatment using our in-house brand protect & clean®, further enhancing the durability of the architectural concrete façade.
