On 11 and 12 June 2014, the 3rd Noise Protection Symposium of the VDEI took place at the Ramada Hotel in Berlin. Hering was present at this symposium as an exhibitor with an own trade fair stand.
In times of continuously denser interconnectedness, noise protection increasingly turns into a focal matter, to which citizens respond in an ever-more sensitive way. To find sustainable solutions to this problem therefore is an explicit objective of both political decision-makers and railway managers. By means of a complex noise rehabilitation programme at railroads and tracks, residents are supposed to be protected against the noise of wheel-rail traffic. Through a wide variety of measures, rail-related noise is to be reduced in half by 2020 in comparison to the year 2000. This objective can only be achieved if all parties involved in the development of railway infrastructure join forces in working towards this goal. In the framework of the symposium, current research results and practical experience were presented.
The best of the best in research, politics and the German Railways were present during the two days in Berlin. Interested professional visitors from politics, railway companies, construction companies and engineering offices learned about latest developments in the noise protection research sector as well as about the trends of the future. The high number of visitors at the Hering stand was a clear indication that noise protection is an issue of the future, and reflected a strong interest in the products and services offered by our company. As the spokeswoman of the VDEI advisory council, Annette Hering acted as a presenter during the symposium.
