No-one working at the InnoTrans trade fair, which was held from 23rd to 26th September, could complain about boredom or the lack of visitors. In fact, there were lots of visitors and guests coming to check out stand number 222 in hall 25 from the very first day of the trade fair.
The crème de la crème of individuals working in the passenger and freight transport industries came together at the anniversary edition of InnoTrans. InnoTrans is the world's leading trade fair for transport technology, which was held for the 10th time in Berlin, attracting rail exhibitors from all over the world. The mix of trade fair, convention and rail yard exhibition leads the way for the global rail industry. During the daytime, the event, which was completely sold out at the Messe Berlin exhibition centre, allowed individuals to meet up and find out about market drivers, examine new developments and, last but not least, hold important conversations and make new contacts. InnoTrans is also a particularly worthwhile event as a career portal for young talent within the rail industry. It was no surprise therefore that numerous students, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Lademann from the Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences, converged on the Hering stand in order to obtain information at first hand.
Even younger visitors came in the form of 12th grade pupils from the Wilma-Rudolph-Oberschule in Berlin. Other visitors who came during the course of the trade fair were much more exclusive, such as members of the transport committee of the German Federal Parliament involved in the Pro-Rail Alliance ("Allianz pro Schiene“) and key players involved with Deutsche Bahn. Visitors to the trade fair were interested in all of the Hering products and services on display, with a particular focus on the future-oriented topic of noise protection. Visitors to the stand were able to see for themselves exactly how innovative the Hering Group is; they were able to test out the sound-absorbing effect of Hering high noise-protection components when conversing with each other in the meeting lounge, which was made using Hering noise barriers. The lounge was a popular retreat for individuals to enjoy quiet conversations amidst all the hustle and bustle.
The ceiling suspension system, which was professionally installed by our trade fair constructors, provided an impressive view under a Hering platform roof. Even the floors and walls were used in order to present innovations from the Siegerland-based company; betoShell® slabs were mounted in advance on the wall in an extremely precise manner; the newly designed modula®flex slabs formed the subfloor, giving visitors the feeling of standing on a platform.
As expected, the trade fair was once again a great success; more than 2,700 exhibitors from 51 countries came to InnoTrans 2014. The Hering Group is without doubt looking forward to again participating in the event in autumn 2016.
