Heavy Duty Crane Popeye KRC 810/4 in operation: Installation of a temporary auxiliary bridge

During the year-end holiday period, our heavy machinery team was once again in operation: In the night from 29 to 30 December 2025, our rail-mounted heavy-duty crane Popeye KRC 810/4 safely installed a temporary auxiliary bridge weighing approximately 21 tonnes – a demanding night shift from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The auxiliary bridge serves as a temporary load-bearing structure, enabling subsequent construction phases related to the modernisation of the Luther Weg level crossing in Wunstorf to be carried out efficiently and safely.

The aim of the project is to permanently replace the existing level crossing with a new underpass, thereby optimising traffic flow and enhancing safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

Many thanks to our team for their professional commitment during the year-end holiday period.

HERING sustainability

At HERING, we see ourselves as pioneers in the field of sustainability. As early as 1996, we were the first construction company in Germany to obtain EMAS certification. Every three years, we publish an environmental statement documenting our goals and how we have achieved them. Actually, for the first time, we published a sustainability report with an integrated environmental statement in accordance with EMAS - a logical next step in view of our ecological and social responsibility. It documents how we deal internally and externally with the issues that are essential to our future viability.
